FIRST POLISH-CANADIAN MAPLE BEAR SCHOOL IN POLAND OPEN

The first Polish-Canadian Maple Bear elementary school and kindergarten, part of the world’s largest educational network, was officially opened on September 4, 2023. The newly renovated Maple Bear campus in Katowice welcomed the first students and their parents in the presence of city authorities and guests from around the world.

The guests of honor were Rodney Briggs, legendary co-founder of Maple Bear schools from Canada and Vice Mayor of Katowice Jerzy Wozniak, while Ambassador of Canada, Ms. Catherine Godin

attended the ceremony virtually.

The school in Katowice is the first Polish outpost of Maple Bear, the largest and fastest-growing educational network in the world, which currently has 580 schools in 39 countries around the world.

Maple Bear schools share with the world the best of Canadian education, offering a bilingual methodology and teaching strategy that is a combination of Canadian and national curriculum. The schools operate in accordance with local education regulations, and children graduating receive Polish and Canadian certificates.

The start of the year at the Katowice school and kindergarten was therefore at the same time the inauguration of the Polish Maple Bear school network.

Next schools are already under construction in Wroclaw, Poznan, Warsaw and Krakow.

TIU Canada -new PCCC Patron Member

Welcome our new Patron Member – TIU Canada!  The company is a pioneering solar energy power producer based in Calgary, Alberta that is expanding its operations to Poland. Since entering the Eastern European market in 2016, it has focused on producing clean electricity using Canadian renewable energy technology, technical experience, and innovative stakeholder partnerships to create value for shareholders in Canada and around the world. The company invested more than 90 million CAD in solar power projects in emerging markets and Canada, leveraging over 30 years of combined experience developing, monitoring, and managing energy projects globally.
In 2017, the company become the first Canadian investor in the Ukrainian economy under the Canadian Ukrainian Free Trade Agreement (CUFTA). Its current operations consist of 45 megawatts of electricity production in three solar stations despite the war. TIU Canada is deeply integrated with the local communities in Ukraine running extensive CSR programs for the population at the locations of the solar plants. Also, TIU has provided much-needed assistance to the regions devastated by the war in Mykolaiv and Kherson.

ATC Cargo S.A., a logistics operator, offers comprehensive solutions for supplychain management. From the beginning of its existence the company has been based in Gdynia, “a city of the sea and dreams”, which is the most important city for Polish maritime economy. The company draws from the city’s tradition and advantages. Over ten years ago a two-member team of the ATC Cargo S.A. began their business adventure with maritime logistics, in a one-room office. Today the enterprise employs over 160 employees and operates globally, including in several offices in China where they act as a licensed NVOCC operator. The company undertakes new projects that contribute to the improvement of their offer and services, based on their clients needs. Several years ago the company decided to focus on the development of intermodal transport. Today 80% of the goods are handled through this ecological andenvironmentally friendly solution. ATC Cargo S.A. estimates that this year it will exceed 120 000 TEU of cargo.
