PCCC joins Canadian PM in Warsaw Roundtable on Trade and Security_August 25

On August 25, during the official visit of The Right Honourable Mark Carney, Prime Minister of Canada, to Poland, the Embassy of Canada | Ambassade du Canada in Warsaw hosted a roundtable with the Prime Minister and top-level Polish and Canadian business leaders.

The discussion, attended by Polish Canadian Chamber of Commerce President Bernhard L. Otterstein and Board Member Bartlomiej Niescierowicz – representing PCCC Patron Member CGI – brought together senior business representatives from key sectors in both countries to address key current and future issues in bilateral cooperation.

Topics included energy security, critical minerals, aerospace, digital innovation, as well as broader trade and security cooperation within the strategic Canada–Poland relationship.

The event was hosted by H.E. Catherine Godin, Ambassador of Canada to Poland, with the participation of Andrzej Domański, CFA, Poland’s Minister of Finance and the Economy, alongside CEOs and senior leaders of select PCCC member companies and stakeholders.

The PCCC extends its gratitude to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Embassy of Canada, and all participants for this meaningful dialogue, and reaffirms its ongoing commitment to strengthening business, investment, and security ties between Canada and Poland.

Bernhard Otterstein was born and educated in Vancouver, Canada, where he graduated with honours from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia. He has worked with numerous corporate, governmental, and institutional entities in North America, Europe and Asia in the areas of economic analysis, strategic project and investment planning, new market development, as well as cross-cultural communications. He has been directly involved in projects in the fields of real estate, engineering, energy, biotechnology and IT/telecommunications.

Over the past 15 years, Mr. Otterstein has gained first-hand experience in identifying and promoting innovative, emerging technologies and related business opportunities, taking them from early stage to market via private equity investment and the active co-management of several start-up ventures.
