Sustainable Cities Trade & Investment Mission_September, 30 – October, 4

PCCC has a privilege to support and take part in Sustainable Cities Trade & Investment Mission organised by Trade Commissioner Service, Embassy of Canada in Warsaw, Instytut Innowacji i Odpowiedzialnego Rozwoju INNOWO and Canadian Polish Business Association.

First day of the mission, during the briefing for Canadian companies Bernhard L. Otterstein, President of PCCC gave a presentation on specifics of Polish business culture, while the second day during the Conference and Networking Lunch the chamber was represented by the Board Members Areta Kempińska- Vice-President, George Havaris – Treasurer and Hubert Durlik.

The second day conference has been opened by Her Excellency Catherine Godin.

The main theme of the mission is sustainable urban transformations, smart cities technologies, their financing, including the National Recovery Plan as an instrument for the green transformation.
Participants listened also to insightful presentations of 3 Ukrainian Cities: Poltava, Kyiv and Ivano-Frankivsk.

Bernhard Otterstein was born and educated in Vancouver, Canada, where he graduated with honours from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia. He has worked with numerous corporate, governmental, and institutional entities in North America, Europe and Asia in the areas of economic analysis, strategic project and investment planning, new market development, as well as cross-cultural communications. He has been directly involved in projects in the fields of real estate, engineering, energy, biotechnology and IT/telecommunications.

Over the past 15 years, Mr. Otterstein has gained first-hand experience in identifying and promoting innovative, emerging technologies and related business opportunities, taking them from early stage to market via private equity investment and the active co-management of several start-up ventures.
