Winter Reception 2018

On February 15th, 2018, the 7th edition of the Winter Reception took place at the Embassy of Canada. The event was well attended with over 150 guests. The evening’s guest speaker was Mr. Piotr Kowalski, an independent observer of the Polish economic and political scene with a 20-year career as head of CEE for Fitch Ratings, who provided commentary on short- and long-term perspectives for Poland’s development.

IGCC meeting with National Bank of Poland

The IGCC was delighted to host a meeting with Ms. Katarzyna Zajdel-Kurowska, Board Member of the National Bank of Poland on 12^th January 2018 at the Regent Warsaw Hotel. Ms. Zajdel-Kurowska attended as the guest speaker on behalf of Mr. Adam Glapiński, President of the National Bank of Poland, who was unable to be present. Ms. Zajdel-Kurowska gave an engaging talk on economic perspectives in 2018 before taking questions from the floor.

IGCC Meeting with PAIH

The IGCC held a working meeting with Mr. Wojciech Fedko, Vice President of PAIH Polish Investment and Trade Agency on December 20th, 2017. Updates and discussions were held on the strategy for PAIH’s development of its network of trade offices and the role that IGCC member chambers could play to support bi-lateral business.

PCEN meeting

The first meeting of PCEN was held on December 4th, 2017 at the Embassy of Canada. The roster of guest speakers included Adam Jarczyński on “The Art of Schmoozing”, Anna Szubrycht updating on “Trends in the Luxury Market” and a Canadian Wine Tasting presented by Leszek Hnat of ETC, Szczecin.

Une Soiree Canadienne Charity Ball with Ex Animo Foundation

The PCCC together with Embassy of Canada partnered with the Ex Animo Maria Sapieha Foundation to organize the Une Soiree Canadienne Charity Ball on November 25th, 2017. The evening was a great success with more than 300 people in attendance raising over 260 000 pln to support the purchase of diagnostic equipment for the Cancer Clinic of the Children’s Memorial Hospital in Międzylesie, Warsaw. The evening was full of Canadian spirit including the music of Oscar Peterson, ice cider tasting, Canadian-inspired menu and Canada Trivia Quiz.

Polish Canadian Executive Network PCEN launch

A reception was held at the Embassy of Canada on September 26th, 2017 to launch the Polish Canadian Executive Network PCEN. The new group is a transformation of the Polish Canadian Alumni Network to emphasize professional and career development. The group is an informal forum where executives and professionals can meet, learn, share experiences and network. Quarterly meetings are planned with the next to be held in December 2017.
