Sustainable Cities Trade and Investment Mission to Poland and Ukraine_September 30- October 4

The trade mission is organized by the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) in cooperation with Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), Polish Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Canadian-Polish Business Association (CPBA) and Innowo Institute of Innovation and Responsible Development.

10 innovative Canadian companies joining the Sustainable Cities Trade & Investment mission to Poland. These companies will be visiting Poland to meet with Polish and Ukrainian cities, local governments, municipal utilities companies and key industry players. 

Canadian firms have excellent reputations abroad and provide solutions across a number of smart cities verticals, including smart buildings, utilities, data, energy, transportation and citizen services. They are sought after by global buyers for their professionalism and quality of service in improving energy efficiency, optimizing space and data, and minimizing the environmental impacts of urban infrastructure.

Bernhard Otterstein was born and educated in Vancouver, Canada, where he graduated with honours from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia. He has worked with numerous corporate, governmental, and institutional entities in North America, Europe and Asia in the areas of economic analysis, strategic project and investment planning, new market development, as well as cross-cultural communications. He has been directly involved in projects in the fields of real estate, engineering, energy, biotechnology and IT/telecommunications.

Over the past 15 years, Mr. Otterstein has gained first-hand experience in identifying and promoting innovative, emerging technologies and related business opportunities, taking them from early stage to market via private equity investment and the active co-management of several start-up ventures.
